The purpose of Denmead War Memorial Hall is to benefit the people who live in Denmead.
It is suitable for many different functions, and is widely used as a village hall with local events and private parties.

In common with many village halls, the hall was set up as a trust by local villagers to be run by a Management Committee, and on the passing of the last surviving trust holder, Denmead Parish Council became Custodial Trustees for the land and buildings.
There is parking adjacent to the hall. There is also a village centre car park nearby.
The trust deed ('the governing document') specifies the committee's duties and responsibilities and
says that the hall must be run for the benefit of the inhabitants of Denmead and surrounding districts.

UPDATE - FIELD AND PARKING AT THE MEMORIAL HALL
Denmead Parish Council plan to discuss the future of the field and parking at their meeting on Wednesday 27th June at 7.30 held at the Community Centre, School Lane, Denmead. This is an open meeting and can be attended by members of the public.
The Heathfield working party will bring their recommendations concerning any changes of use for the land to the meeting but will not discuss their plans in advance with the memorial hall committee. There is no commitment by the Parish council to have a public consultation on the recommendations and we do not know yet if the recommendation will take account of the parish poll. However this DPC meeting is a chance for residents of the village to have a say and influence what happens next.
We hope that we are able to preserve the field to be used by residents of the village and users of the hall, including the children of the playschool who need a safe and secure outdoor play area and to be able to continue to offer free parking at the hall for all users.
The Denmead Memorial Hall is run as a charity by a small group of trustees to benefit the residents of Denmead and is not a business.
